Case Study
Trinity Broadcasting Network – WHLV-TV
Orlando, FL
When developing the Holy Land Experience theme park in Orlando, Florida TBN hired OPM-Services, LLC to build a broadcast center that could act both as a local broadcast affiliate of TBN network programming and as a live high definition television production center for originating park presentations for the rest of the TV network.
To keep costs down, OPM-Services, LLC chose the Evertz EQX 288×288 router frame that can input both fiber from the park and coaxial sources from Production Control and satellite directly, and contains display processors for multiviewers in Production Control. Up to eight Ikegami cameras connect from the park to the production control room from strategically located interconnect panels using buried fiberoptic cables.
The WHLV-TV facilities feature an innovative audio production room with a Studer Vista 9 audio mixer that serves as the station’s central digital audio router, controlled by Evertz video router control panels. A second operator position in the rear of the room houses an Avid Pro Tools digital audio workstation for editing and sweetening recorded audio productions.
The facilities use custom-built Laguna Designs furniture in the production control rooms and in Video Control. Two Apple Final Cut Pro workstations serve to edit video and audio for packages recorded at the Holy Land Experience or WHLV studio.
