Tiger Woods Learning Center
Anaheim, CA
The Tiger Woods Learning Center (TWLC) is an innovative youth-education facility located in Anaheim Calif. They commissioned OPM-Services, LLC to design, build, and install A/V Systems for classrooms and an auditorium for their new learning center. OPM-Services, LLC engineers worked with the TWLC and its architect in building sophisticated A/V systems into the new facility to ensure an optimal teaching and learning environment.
“OPM-Services, LLC helped equip us with the technology to successfully teach our innovative curriculum,” said Kathy Bihr, executive director of the Tiger Woods Learning Center. “The surround sound and movie theater-style screen in the auditorium have been instrumental in providing effective community workshops and lectures.”
The two-story 35,000-square-foot center, officially opened in January, provides fifth- to 12th-grade students with critical enrichment programs in reading, math, science, and technology. Specific classes promote career exploration and preparation in areas including forensic science, engineering, aerospace, video production, and home design. The 14-acre campus was designed to provide students with access to the most interactive, technologically advanced equipment and curriculum. The OPM-Services, LLC installation incorporated the facility’s auditorium, seven classrooms, and a boardroom. The classrooms and boardroom are equipped with projectors, screens, and sound systems. The auditorium is outfitted with surround sound speakers, a custom 20-foot by 12-foot Stewart screen, a Polycom videoconferencing system, AMX control, a Sanyo projector, JBL speakers, and a variety of smaller audio components. The auditorium space is utilized for outreach programs, community workshops, lectures, large group presentations, video conferencing, performances, meetings, and interactive learning. The room seats 230 people and features advanced projectors, movie theater-type screens, and a wireless environment. A number of floor boxes will allow for easy setup of cameras at different positions during such events.
“The Tiger Woods Learning Center is unique not only in the opportunities it provides to children, but also in its design and architecture,” said Stephen D. Rosen, president of OPM-Services, LLC. “The technologies employed at the center are a significant part of an excellent learning environment, and they also meet the demands of high profile events held to support the center and its mission. We worked with staff at the center from start to finish to ensure all systems were ready for the launch and first series of courses for the students.”
